With more than 167 years of existence, Savonnerie Fer à Cheval perpetuates the method of manufacturing and saponification of Marseille Soap in cauldrons according to the true "Marseillae" method. It was in the 19th century, in the Phocaean city, that hundreds of small factories made Savon, the flagship product of Marseille.

Know-how
Our Savonnerie Fer à Cheval has founded with other soap factories in the Marseille region the Union des Professionnels du Savon de Marseille to promote true traditional know-how. We have set up a logo guaranteeing you a quality soap manufactured according to the process established by the Colbert's Edict.
The manufacturing criteria for Traditional Marseille Soap:
- A geographical origin: Marseille region
- A production in cauldrons according to the Marseille process in 5 steps
- A composition of exclusively vegetable oils and without additives (preservatives, dyes, perfumes, animal fats)
